| Set in a future where the earth is near destruction, the main characters in this story are polar opposites: Ty is genetically engineered to his parents orders and Maya is a gift from nature. Ty lives in the fabricated city -- a city sapping the earth of its resources -- and Maya is surviving with her people in the badlands outside the city. This book would really appeal to a young adult audience but also kept me thoroughly entertained throughout and I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
